Maria, the daughter of the deposed governor, struggles to protect her family and reunite with her lover while a ruthless former servant, now a revolutionary commissar, pursues her. A dramatic blend of romance, naval action, and revolutionary violence, this 1937 Nazi propaganda film presents the upheaval through an intensely anti-communist perspective.
